Frequently Asked Questions

Prescription Questions

Are Pharmacists Allowed to Prescribe Medications and Manage Medical Conditions?

Yes, Idaho licensed pharmacists are authorized to independently prescribe medications and provide patient care services as long as they are within the education, training and experience of the individual pharmacist. Our pharmacists and pharmacist consultants that we schedule for are specialty trained and experienced clinical pharmacists with expertise in managing medications and medical conditions.

What Pharmacies Accept Your Prescriptions?

We can electronically send prescriptions to any pharmacy of your choice. Pharmacist's prescriptions are valid at any pharmacy licensed in Idaho and in many cases will be able to be filled out of state if you are traveling. However, state laws vary and some states may not recognize the prescriptive authority of pharmacists and you may need to plan to fill your medications in Idaho before you travel.

Do You Prescribe Controlled Substances?

No, we do not presently prescribe or refill any controlled substances. While Idaho pharmacists are able to prescribe controlled substances, federal regulations prohibit pharmacists from prescribing controlled substances via telehealth.

Care Coordination Questions

Can I Receive Services If I Don't Have a Primary Care Provider?

Yes, we can provide care for you even if you do not have or are in between Primary Care Providers. We strongly encourage all patients to establish care with a local PCP that can coordinate their overall health care needs and can provide face to face services.

Can You Be My Primary Care Provider?

No. While many of the services we provide may be considered Primary Care Services, we can not function as a PCP nor do we intend to replace your PCP. At Rosko Precision Health, we recognize the critical importance of the relationship between a patient and their PCP, and believe that patients need direct, routine and in person access to a PCP. We strongly encourage all patients to establish or maintain a relationship with a PCP. We intend to coordinate care with your PCP and help increase community access to PCPs.

Can I Receive Care If I Am Outside of Idaho?

No. At this time, we are only licensed and able to provide services to individuals who are physically located in Idaho. If you are a regular patient of ours and traveling, we may be able to provide refills for conditions we are presently managing depending upon the state, however new medical conditions or concerns will need to be addressed by a local provider.

Will You Work with My Current PCP or Specialists?

Yes, absolutely. We will coordinate the care you receive from us with you regular medical providers. Your providers will receive updates from us on relevant medical information an care plans, and will be consulted as needed.

Can You Provide Care for A Condition My PCP or Specialist Is Managing?

Maybe. We can provide some urgent services or refill medications for conditions other providers are managing when you cannot get care from the regular provider and to bridge the gap until you can follow up with them. However, to provide ongoing care for a medical condition, we would need to transfer care of that condition to our practice. In general, it is not advisable to have multiple providers managing the same condition without a clear care coordination plan as this can lead to duplication or errors.

What If I Need Laboratory Testing or Imaging?

Idaho licensed pharmacists are able to order necessary laboratory tests and imaging studies in providing pharmaceutical care services. We work with local laboratories and imaging centers of your choice and can send orders and directly receive results related to your care.

What If I Need an In Person Visit?

At present, Rosko Precision Health does not have a location for in in-person visits and only provides virtual care services. At times, your medical conditions may necessitate in person care, and your pharmacist with RPH will either refer you to a specialist provider or direct you to seek in person care with your PCP or a local urgent care facility.

What If I Am Having A Medical Emergency?

In case of a medical emergency, please call 911 or visit the nearest emergency room. Our telehealth practice does not provide emergency care.

Billing and Insurance Questions

Do You Accept Medical Insurance?

No, at this time we do not accept any major medical insurance plans and we are not able to bill Medicaid or Medicare. We are in discussions with Idaho Medicaid on the potential to provide services for residents covered by the state Medicaid plan, however there are barriers in the state's provider registration system that will take additional time to address. We will continue to evaluate the impact of participation in commercial medical plans on our operations and fee schedule and may make changes to our participation in the future. Any changes to accepted insurance plans will clearly be posted on our website when in effect.

Can I Submit My Bill to Insurance for Reimbursment?

While we do not directly contract with any major medical plans at this time, many of our services may be covered and partially reimbursed if your plan covers out of network care. We cannot guarantee that a service will be covered by your health plan and make no claims that you will receive any reimbursement, however we will provide all patients with itemized bills and receipts that are required for you to submit a paper claim to your medical plan for consideration

The services we provide that may be covered by your health plan include virtual office visits, telephone visits, consultations and preventative health services. Medication Therapy Management services are often not covered by health plans.

It is worth submitting a claim to your medical payer if you have commercial, managed care or Medicare Advantage coverage to see what portion, if any, they will cover. Medicare B coverage will not pay for pharmacist services at this time.

Do You Accept HSA or Flex Spending Cards?

Yes, all services provided by Rosko Precision Health are health care services eligible for flex spending or HSA payment. Our payment processor is set up to accept and process all major HSA and Flex Spending Account vendors.
